How To Measure for Draperies
To make custom draperies that fit your windows precisely, we’ll need precise measurements.
For most windows, we’ll need these measurements:
•Inside measurement of the window
•Outside measurement of the window (in case there’s trim or molding around the window)
•Measurement of space from the top of the window to the ceiling
•Measurement of space from the bottom of the window to the floor
•Measurement of space to the right of the window (between the window and a corner, cabinet, artwork, lamp, etc.)
•Measurement of space to the left of the window (between the window and a corner, cabinet, artwork, lamp, etc.)
With bay windows, we’ll need these measurements:
•Inside measurement of the window
•Outside measurement of the window
•Wall measurements
•Sketches and/or photos of the bay window
If you’re not comfortable taking drapery measurements yourself, please give us a call, and we can recommend a professional installer in the Denver metro area.
Please note: With tall windows (that can extend up to 4 and 5 stories tall), we highly recommend the services of a professional installer for window measurements.
